The “roses” in this collection from fair-trade company Calamarie, are made from discarded orange peels collected from juice vendors. The skins are thoroughly cleaned before being sun-dried, shaped and dyed. The flowers are then combined with seeds, vegetable ivory, coffee beans, and other natural materials to create necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pins, hair combs and belts.
