County museum’s gift shop great for unique souvenirs

The Becker County Museum Gift Shop is featuring items made right here in Becker County. In addition to its Detroit Lakes, Becker County and Minnesota-themed gifts, the gift shop has locally made items from Candles by Jess, Wood You Tell Me, Nature’s Embrace and Lake Hailey Embroidery; all companies from Becker County.

Visitors can find an abundance of reading materials including fiction and non-fiction books about this area. Local authors like Don Westrum, Nancy Brekke, Mary Michaelson and Vernette Leslie are showcased. Plus, Becker County township and community history books and Minnesota photo books that are great conversation starters or just look good on the coffee table.

In addition, the gift shop has the recently reprinted Alvin H. Wilcox’s 1907 “A Pioneer History of Becker County Minnesota” available. This hardcover book is sold for $28 and is our most complete Becker County history reference.
