3/50 Project is latest shop local campaign
Two Rivers — Which three independent businesses would you hate to see not make it? The coffee shop where you occasionally grab a morning latte? The diner that’s handy on those days you need a quick lunch? The gift shop you’ve been meaning to visit since it opened two years ago?
According to a campaign that’s gaining momentum nationally and in the Lakeshore, you can help ensure those establishments remain open.
Just take $50 you’re already spending somewhere every month and use it at three locally owned, independent businesses.
That’s the concept behind the 3/50 Project, which a number of businesses in the Port Cities have embraced.
“It’s genius in its simplicity,” said David Smith, owner of Stumpjack Coffee Co. in Two Rivers and president of the Two Rivers Main Street Program’s board of directors.
