Accent on Design Accepts New Exhibitions

White Plains, NY — Five countries – Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan and Taiwan – and seven states – California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas – are represented among new companies accepted in the highly-selective juried Accent on Design® division at the winter 2010 New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®).

Accent on Design, a dynamic juried collection of nearly 200 contemporary and innovative products across all gift, home and lifestyle categories, is one of eight carefully categorized divisions of the NYIGF. Accent on Design has been the industry’s leading resource for design-led merchandise for over 25 years.

“As the standard bearer for design-driven products, Accent on Design constantly incorporates fresh new design talents alongside established design resources,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “The winter 2010 newcomers will add greatly to the division’s overall aesthetic, as well as to its multi-cultural mix.”

The fourteen new companies accepted to participate in the winter 2010 edition of Accent on Design include:

NYIGF also will welcome a number of emerging design talents through A+: The Young Designer’s Platform Accent on Design, a showcase of promising designers; including students, recent graduates, or young companies. The deadline to apply for participation in this juried “incubator” space, which provides young designers an affordable opportunity to expose their concepts, prototypes and finished products to the wholesale marketplace, has been extended until Friday, December 4. Applications are available online at http://www.nyigf.com/exhibitor/aplus/exhibitor.php.

Accent on Design runs Sunday, January 31, through Thursday, February 4, 2010, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. NYIGF is the nation’s premier gift, home and lifestyle marketplace, with 2,700 exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware.
