Adora, Inc. to host fourth annual Make Your Own Baby contest

Edison, NJ – Adora, one of the leading designers and crafters of fine limited edition and collectible dolls, announces that it will again host its popular “Make Your Own Baby” contest, beginning September 1 and running through December 10. Adora, Inc.’s “Make Your Own Baby” contest begins with in-store events at more than 50 retailers nationwide. See below for a schedule of participating retailers.

During the events, participants have the unique opportunity to assemble their own doll from a kit that contains doll arms, legs, head, body skin, body stuffing and a wig. The 2007 kits also include socks, pacifiers for Caucasian and Hispanic sculpts, and a blank birth certificate. A choice of various hair and eye color combinations further adds to the uniqueness of each doll. Clothing is offered by Adora, Inc. for purchase; however some participants choose to create original outfits.

Upon completion of the dolls, the retailer will select the best doll design, which is then entered into the national contest. Adora Inc.’s corporate staff will judge the entries based on scrapbooks supplied by Adora Inc. and completed by the retailer, which describe concept, craftsmanship, overall color and style. Adora Inc. will announce the winner in late December. The creator of the winning doll will receive a three-day trip for two to the International Doll Expo (IDEX) in Orlando, Fla., in January 2008. The prize includes airfare, lodging and $300 in spending money. The second place winner will receive a 2007 Adora Collectors Club membership and the exclusive Club Doll, and the third place winner will receive a 2007 Adora Collectors Club membership.

Adora will also award participating retailers with prizes, based on the presentation, promotion, and creativity of the event. Each retailer will be given a scrapbook to chronicle their event and then submit for judging. Three winners will be selected and each will receive Adora, Inc. merchandise credits for their store.

During the in-store dealer event, customers can also purchase “Joy,” the special event doll created by members of Adora’s award-winning design team. “Joy” is festively attired in a cream-colored dress with green piping and Christmas decals. She also wears a green, faux fur wrap and pink boots. Her pigtailed, brown hair is adorned with a matching headband decorated with holly berries.
