Ambiente 2014 Services at a Glance: Everything for Gathering Information, Conducting Research and Orientation

Careful planning before visiting the fair is not simply a must, it is the key to success. Ambiente, the event of superlatives, will once again be the meeting place for the entire sector from 7 to 11 February 2014 and, therefore, provides an extensive range of services for visitors – whether gathering information, conducting research or orientation, the services available range from an exhibitor search engine, via cheaper online tickets, to the Smartphone Navigator.

Online exhibitor search engine: advance planning is the best

Visitors can plan their time at the fair in detail well before the doors open. With the online exhibitor search engine at www.ambiente.messefrankfurt.com, they can discover during the run-up to the fair which companies are presenting their products at Ambiente. The results can be sorted by name, product group, country or exhibition stand quickly and easily.

Newsletter and Twitter: always up-to-date

With Ambiente Newsletter, visitors are always well informed about the latest news and highlights. The Newsletter can be ordered easily and free of charge by clicking the ‘Newsletter’ button on the Ambiente website at www.ambiente.messefrankfurt.com. The Twitter account provides brief and up-to-the-minute information about Ambiente and everything relating to the sector. The Twitter account can be found at www.twitter.com/ambiente with the hashtag #Ambiente14.

Mobile at the fair: the Smartphone Navigator

With the ‘Ambiente Navigator’, visitors can find what they are looking for quickly and easily, e.g., exhibitors, events, products or locations. The optimised application is available for both iPhones and Android devices. With the app, visitors and exhibitors can be sure of always being up to date before and during the fair.

Online tickets: save time and money

Visitors can save time and money if they purchase their admission tickets at www.ambiente.messefrankfurt.com and print them out before coming to the fair. Until 12.00 hrs on the last day, an online day ticket costs € 20, six less than on arrival at the fair. In the case of a season ticket, which costs € 42 and is valid for all five days, visitors save more than € 20 compared to the box-office price. All purchased tickets also count as tickets for local public-transport services operated by the RMV public-transport authority.

Virtual orientation: the interactive hall plan

It is now even easier for visitors to find their way around the Exhibition Centre. Using the interactive hall plan, visitors can quickly find the location of interesting exhibitors. At the same time, they can click the individual levels and exhibition stands to obtain details of the exhibitors. Special exhibitions are also easy to find using the interactive hall plan, which can be found on the Ambiente website and the smartphone app.

The mobile office: WLAN and PinPrint

With WLAN throughout the Exhibition Centre, surfing and communication is no problem at Ambiente. The bandwidth is suitable for visiting websites and reading and sending emails. Printing via notebook, blackberry or smartphone is also possible thanks to the new digital PinPrint service: all users have to do is send the file to PinPrint@MesseServices.com and, with the pin code received in reply, collect and pay for the printouts at one of the PinPrint stations at the fair. It couldn’t be easier!

Comprehensive travel packages: making life easier

Ambiente visitors can purchase a special arrangement for train travel. The same price from anywhere in Germany, the Messe Frankfurt package costs € 169 in first and € 109 in second class. It includes a fully flexible rail ticket, i.e., with no fixed train connections, a season ticket and the official Ambiente 2014 catalogue. The Messe Frankfurt Visitor Service will be pleased to answer questions about the arrangement on +49 69 7575 19444. As the Airline Partner of Messe Frankfurt, Lufthansa offers cheaper flights and special terms and conditions for visitors and exhibitors of Ambiente 2014. Detailed booking information can be found in the ‘Getting there’ section of the Ambiente website.

Europa District construction sites: find out in advance

The new Europa District is being built to the south of the Exhibition Centre and there is a large number of construction sites to contend with. Therefore, Messe Frankfurt recommends that all Ambiente visitors take a look at the ‘Getting there’ section of the Ambiente website before leaving for the fair and find out if there are likely to be any problems on the way to the Exhibition Centre.

‘Stars on Stage’ on the Event Calendar

Stars of the international cookery scene, outstanding pastry chefs, wine experts and other celebrities – all will be live on stage at Ambiente. To help visitors keep track of all the appearances, Messe Frankfurt will publish an event calendar in the ‘Events’ section of the Ambiente website. The ‘Stars on Stage’ overview will also be available in printed form during the fair.

Exclusive Smokers’ Lounge at Ambiente for the first time

Out of consideration for others, Messe Frankfurt asks visitors and exhibitors not to smoke in the exhibition halls, foyers and Via Mobile. In accordance with the law, there is a general ban on smoking in the restaurants at the Exhibition Centre. Naturally, there are special zones for smokers outdoors. Those visitors who find the outside temperature a little too cool in February should go to the exclusive smokers’ lounge, which opens for the first time at Ambiente 2014. It is located in the foyer of Hall 5.1B, in the immediate vicinity of the Smoking Accessories segment, which covers pipes and accessories such as humidors, cigar cases and lighters.

Accessibility: visiting the fair without barriers

Direct and easy ways to get around – these are distinguishing features of the hall structure at Ambiente and they apply equally to visitors with and without disabilities. The accessible entrances and aisles provide lots of room for manoeuvre. Moreover, almost all Ambiente exhibitors ensure through careful planning that their exhibition stands are accessible via ramps. Wheelchairs and scooters can be borrowed from the first-aid posts in Halls 4.C and 8.0 throughout the fair.

Kindergarten: service for the little ones

Little visitors can be left safely in the Messe Frankfurt kindergarten. Two teachers are responsible for a maximum of 20 children in the 120 square metre facility. A platform, kiddies bar, climbing wall, PC counter and cosy ‘nests’ are available to help children aged three or older to while away the time. Parents with babies can also take advantage of this children-oriented setting. During Ambiente, the free kindergarten is open during the normal hours of opening and is located on Level 1 of the ‘Torhaus’ building.

City Tips: tips from the Ambiente staff

Compiled by members of the Ambiente staff, the City Tips are designed to help visitors and exhibitors find the best way to round off a day at the fair in Frankfurt. Culinary and shopping tips, as well as suggestions for an evening programme, can be found in the ‘What’s on in Frankfurt’ section of the Ambiente website.
