Attorney Takes Over Gift Shop on Devine Street
Columbia, SC – Bad jokes aside, the practice of law rates among the most esteemed occupations, but attorneys say it also comes with stress levels among the highest on the planet.
That is why, in part, Columbia attorney Lisa Armstrong changed careers in July, transforming into a merchant with her purchase of the Gibsons on Devine gift shop, a local icon since 1955.
Armstrong has spent the past two months away from her law journals, rearranging her shop, combing the Internet for gift items, and seeking the experienced counsel of her ten employees, all in a plan to put her own stamp on the 2808 Devine Street store.
