Baby + Child Best New Product Awards Presented to Five NY NOW Exhibitors

A Stainless Bottle and Aqua Heat Warming Pod by Innobaby LLC received the “Best of Market” distinction from among nearly 50 companies competing for NY NOW’s Baby + Child Best New Product Awards. Additional winners were recognized for excellence in four categories: toy, décor, gear and apparel, and all five honorees qualify to compete for NY NOW’s “Best of LIFESTYLE” Award, which will be determined by online facebook balloting – at http://bit.ly/NYNOW_BNP_LIFESTYLE – during the Winter 2015 edition of NY NOW®, the Market for Home + Lifestyle, which runs Saturday, January 31, through Wednesday, February 4, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

A panel of 12 editors from trade media, kid-centric blogs and websites selected products for a focus on function, innovation, and design. The winners and finalists for the winter 2015 Baby + Child Best New Product Awards are:

BEST OF MARKET:

Innobaby LLC (Barrington, IL) for its Innobaby Stainless Bottle and Aqua Heat Warming Pod, which features BPA-free, eco-friendly aqua heat packs to heat bottle without need for batteries or electricity.

TOY:

Winner: Kid O (New York, NY) for its Mix and Match animals, featuring puzzle pieces that can be sorted and snapped together to encourage early creative thinking and social storytelling.

Finalist: KidKraft® (Dallas, TX) for its KidKraft Orange Play Teepee.

Finalist: Uncle Goose (Grand Rapids, MI) for its Odd Galaxy Lunar Rocket.

DÉCOR:

Winner: HABA® USA (Skaneateles, NY) for its Swing Ship Ahoy, which features an “anchor” that can be thrown out to slow the swing down. Includes a support and extensions.

Finalist: Uncle Goose (Grand Rapids, MI) for its Chord Cubes.

Finalist: Cate and Levi (Toronto, ON, Canada) for its Tooth Fairy Pillow.

GEAR:

Winner: Katesplace LLC (St. Helena, CA) for its Kupp’, a children’s drinking glass made in Maine from European glass, enclosed in a colorful silicone sleeve.

Finalist: The Manhattan Toy Company (Minneapolis, MN) for Travel and Comfort™ Tablet Wedge.

Finalist: i Rock the Block (New York, NY) for its Safety Slap.

APPAREL:

Winner: aden + anais® (Brooklyn, NY) for its machine-washable toddler bed in a bag, featuring a fitted and flat sheet sewn together. Made of breathable 100% cotton muslin.

Finalist: Calisson Little Royals (by Calisson Inc.) (San Juan Capistrano, CA) for its Little Liberty Booties.

Finalist: Olie LLC (Sarasota, FL) for The Minkey.

“The high standards of design and craftsmanship presented by Baby + Child exhibitors are truly impressive,” said Melissa Engongoro, Baby + Child Sales Manager. “The winners and finalists represent the very best as judged by our panel of industry professionals.”

The NY NOW “Best of LIFESTYLE” Award will be determined through online voting at http://bit.ly/NYNOW_BNP_LIFESTYLE. Popular choice balloting through Facebook runs January 31-February 3, and the winner will be announced on February 4, before the conclusion of the winter 2015 edition of NY NOW.

Presented as part of NY NOW’s LIFESTYLE Collection, Baby + Child features nearly 100 companies offering functional products with an emphasis on high-design for children 0-10 years. The winter 2015 edition of NY NOW®, the Market for Home +Lifestyle, will run Saturday, January 31, through Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
