Bellevue residents say shopping locally can work
Bellevue residents want to eat and shop in the neighborhood, and for many merchants it’s a successful combination.
Alan Reeves, a Bellevue resident and owner of Mouse Calls Computer Services on Old Harding Pike, has been in business for 11 ½ years. He has continued to grow his company despite the current economic slump.
“We just had a tech become a Quickbooks certified adviser, and another Apple certified,” he said, about his business’ growth. “We may soon be the third Apple authorized service provider in Nashville.”
Reeves’ database of clients has grown to 4,500, ranging from home offices to the Tennessee Special Olympics, and he is confident about the future.
Susan Liberatore, owner of an upscale women’s boutique, Apricot Lane in the Shoppes on the Harpeth Plaza, closed her store on Sept. 12, but she’ll reopen in the Mall at Green Hills next month, more a decision about location than customer loyalty.
Big box and chain retailers continue to draw among Bellevue residents.
