Interior Lifestyle China show attracts international and domestic heavyweights

Interior Lifestyle China – the region’s only international trade fair for household products and accessories – will present the latest items, trends and concepts in the high-end interior and lifestyle products industry. The event is scheduled to run Nov. 19–22, 2008 at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre.

Organized by Messe Frankfurt, in co-operation with United Asia International Exhibition Co., the fair continues to attract international exhibitors who are eager to promote their products in one of the world’s most dynamic markets. Among the 180 exhibitors 60% are from around the globe.

Nearly 20 million people in China move into the city every year, resulting in a huge shift in home ownership. This population move offers a unique marketing opportunity, especially for household items. Keeping in mind that more Chinese consumers are now demanding functional yet stylish products that reflect their individuality; the status of brand is critical when purchasing house wares and appliances.

Amidst this evolving market in China, Interior Lifestyle China positions itself as a purchasing platform that will focus on bringing international brand name consumer products to the Chinese market. A variety of products will be on display and visitors can expect to find candles, ceramics, furniture and household accessories, glass, kitchen tools and small electrical appliances among many other household items. International heavyweights confirmed to participate in this year’s event include Alessi SPA, Caribou, Emile Henry, Gorenje Group, Metier Atelier, Schulte-Ufer, Silit – Werke GmbH, Robert Le Heros, WMF and Yoshikawa Corporation.

“We decided to return to this fair as we have developed a good business relationship with the fair organiser, Messe Frankfurt,” said Mr Felix Chang, Brand Manager for WMF – a German supplier of kitchen products including cookware, dining ware, serving sets and storage units. “We are looking to expand our business in China, mainly in Shanghai and this event is the best opportunity for us to promote our brand and make new business contacts.”

New exhibitors participating in the fair are also attracted to Messe Frankfurt organized events because of their excellent reputations. “The brand is reliable and we trust that we will be able to make good connections at Messe Frankfurt fairs,” replied Caterina Bernabino, Export Manager for Italy’s Samobonet, a supplier of tabletop, flatware, cookware and kitchen utensils. “The China market is very important and we choose to participate in this fair over the others interior products events as Interior Lifestyle China focuses on retailers rather than the hospitality market. This is exactly our target group.”
