Collectors’ Information Bureau announces the winners of the Collectors’ Choice Awards

ATLANTA, Ga. – The atmosphere at the Atlanta AmericasMart was electric, and for 24 recipients festive, as Collectors’ Information Bureau Executive Director, Linda Kruger, personally congratulated the winners of the 2007 Collectors’ Choice Awards.

The Collectors’ Information Bureau (CIB) is a trade organization comprised of the top manufacturers in the field of limited edition collectibles. The 2007 Awards serve to recognize and celebrate the most outstanding collectibles in 12 categories, including this year’s two new divisions, Holiday and Luxury. Five finalists per category were selected by a prestigious panel of industry leaders (listed below) who bring years of passion and expertise to the program.

The winners, determined by a public vote, were notified at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market. Both first and second place manufacturers received awards, commemorated by trophies provided by this year’s co-sponsor, American Collectors Insurance.

“Collectors look forward to casting their votes annually for their favorite collectible and decorative items,” says Kruger. “This year’s winners exemplify a wide array of quality design and manufacture by both well known companies and some ‘rising stars.’ Adding the Luxury and Holiday categories raised the bar for 2007 product entries. We look forward to the 2008 Collectors’ Choice Awards and how the industry continues to change and evolve, as reflected in the designs submitted each and every year.”

Judges selected for this year’s CIB Collectors’ Choice Awards are as follows: Robert Delgau, European Imports and San Francisco Music Box; James Measell, art glass expert; Therese Nolan, editor of Antiques & Collecting magazine; Susan Peterson, Peterson Consulting; and Jane Warner, author of Warner’s Blue Ribbon Books on Swarovski Silver Crystal.
