Company C Donates More Than $35,000 to Fight Breast Cancer

Concord, NH – Today Company C announced it will make a donation of more than $35,000 to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

On Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18, 2009, Company C held its first-ever Passion for Pink event, during which 15 percent of all weekend sales were set aside for the benefit of national and local breast cancer awareness, research and education. A New Hampshire-based designer and manufacturer of hand-craftedarea rugs, decorative pillows, bedding, fabric and throws, Company C totalled two-day sales from its website; three retail stores in Hingham, MA, Portland, ME and Concord, NH; national base of wholesale customers; and its tradeshow in High Point, NC.

“This is an amazing first-time donation,” said Becky Burke, chair of the Komen VT-NH Race for the Cure. “Company C has done a truly wonderful thing here, and this money will make a real impact in both New Hampshire and Vermont. Seventy-five percent of this donation will be dedicated local community breast cancer education, treatment and screening programs. The rest will go to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program to fund breast cancer research.”

“In just one weekend, we touched the lives of so many people affected by breast cancer,” said Christine Chapin, Company C co-founder and design director. “At Company C, we hope to inspire people through our design and colors, but this weekend, we inspired people in a whole new way. It was a remarkable experience for everyone!”

About Susan G. Komen Foundation
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise: becoming the world’s largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
