Dallas Market Center announces exhibitor partners for Interior Home + Design Center

Dallas Market Center, the largest open-daily interior design resource in the country, is proud to announce the first collection of luxury home exhibitor partners for its Interior Home + Design Center, a new 220,000 square foot marketplace serving interior designers and retailers. The visionary project, redeveloping the first floor of the iconic, mid-century International Trade Plaza building, represents the largest expansion of luxury home décor showrooms in Dallas in over forty years.

Leases within the Interior Home + Design Center include Taylor’s On Ten, a leading agency of luxury lighting and home décor; Visual Comfort; Ralph Lauren Home; Bliss Studio; Dessau Home; Emissary; In2green; Shadow Catchers; Ambella Home Collection; ZUO; Ratana Casual Furnishings; Lawrence & Crane; Wish Designs; Spicher & Company; Ashore; and Botanical Mix. These companies will create custom spaces designed to showcase luxury products and to serve as an inspiring destination for both retailers and interior designers.

Combined, these companies represent a significant initial commitment of the total square footage in a building that will serve an existing customer base of more than 200,000 retail buyers and interior designers as well as attract new customers. The Interior Home + Design Center will open in 2017.

“Capitalizing on our tradition of leadership in market center management, we are setting a new standard in marketplace expansion, sophisticated building re-design, and business innovation by creating a destination with ground floor, controlled access showrooms for the design community,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center.  “We are already the largest and most successful open-daily design center in the U.S., welcoming more than 2000 interior designers each month. This significant investment in new space for luxury home showrooms will help build even greater traffic to the entire campus.”

The Interior Home + Design Center is the centerpiece of a long-range strategic initiative to provide enhanced value to manufacturers by serving market-time attendees as well as the growing number of customers conducting business at Dallas Market Center each week. Design showrooms across the 5 million square foot campus, which also includes the Trade Mart and World Trade Center, currently serve a discerning design community actively seeking new resources for residential and commercial projects across Mid- and Latin America. In addition, Dallas Market Center hosts a full calendar of design

events throughout the year in partnership with organizations including ASID (American Society of Interior Design), TAID (Texas Association of Interior Design), and the Interior Design Society, which held their national conference at Dallas Market Center in April 2016.

Andy Singer, founder and president, Visual Comfort commented: “We look forward to creating a wonderful new home for our signature designer lighting collections in what will be our largest to the trade showroom in the country, open on a daily basis. The opportunity is tremendous.”

The CEO of ZUO, Luis Ruesga, added: “We were among the first to sign a lease for showroom space, and we enthusiastically support this stylish and bold plan to serve more customers year-round.”

Originally opened in 1957 as the first building on the Dallas Market Center campus, the current International Trade Plaza will emerge anew as the re-imagined Interior Home + Design Center after a multi-million dollar renovation. While staying true to the building’s mid-century design, the updated space will feature a curated collection of state-of-the-art, open-daily showrooms from leading home décor companies serving an active interior design community as well as the seasonal markets drawing tens of thousands of loyal retailers from all 50 states and around the world. The transformed building will offer showrooms with individual exterior entrances, large exterior windows allowing in natural light, and hundreds of front-row parking spaces and valet service—all completely focused on the needs of time-sensitive interior designers and their discerning clientele.

“Consistent with our philosophy of providing new, exciting, and a modern point of view on the classics, we are happy to be partnering with the DMC to launch the Interior Home + Design Center,” said Tom Jung, president and CEO, Bliss Studio.

“Reaching qualified customers year-round is more important than ever, so we are pleased to join the IHDC and to deliver our artwork to the retail and design communities,” said Mark Spicher, owner, Spicher & Co. “We look forward to the grand opening.”
