Dallas set for January Holiday & Home Expo

(DALLAS) –– Holiday & Home Expo, the nation’s only tradeshow devoted exclusively to permanent floral, seasonal décor and related decorative accessories, is set for January 14-20, 2009 at Dallas Market Center, the world’s largest wholesale merchandise resource.

Christmas & Floral FINDS, the show’s temporary exhibits, will be open January 16-19. Holiday & Home Expo will run in conjunction with the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market (January 14-20).

Exhibitors will feature thousands of new Christmas products – Christmas trees, tree skirts and toppers, ornaments, wreaths and swags, garlands, berries and branches, containers and baskets, textiles, tabletop, topiaries, pre-made arrangements, holiday lighting, outdoor décor, Christmas collectibles and novelties, packaging and trim, ribbon, oversized commercial décor and display props as well as permanent botanicals, foliage and trees.

The show owned and produced by Dallas Market Center and endorsed by the American Floral Industry Association (AFIA), offers more than 400,000 square feet of exhibit space in the International Floral & Gift Center (IFGC) and adjacent Christmas & Floral FINDS area as well as additional showrooms in the adjoining World Trade Center and Trade Mart.

Home Town Trading, Inc., which offers floral stems, wreaths, garlands, picks and floral arrangement decorative accents, will open in 1F330 in the IFGC. Craig Bachman will expand its showroom and Super Nature is relocating and expanding its space to 2F336.

The World Trade Center entrance into the Christmas & Floral FINDS exhibition and IFGC building has been expanded to twice its size to provide Total Home & Gift Market buyers easy, seamless access to the show. A special Christmas Gallery exhibit of holiday products from throughout the Dallas Market Center campus will be on display in the Christmas & Floral FINDS area. Companies new to Christmas & Floral FINDS include Whispering Pine Carving, featuring holiday folk art collectibles, and Music ‘n Motion, which offers computer-animated Christmas trees.

Jim Marvin AIFD, one of the world’s most celebrated floral designers and experts in Christmas decorations, will deliver the keynote address “International Christmas Style” at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 17 in the Hall of Nations of the World Trade Center. Known as “Mr. Holiday,” Marvin travels the world researching, designing and refining the holiday gift, decor and floral collections that he presents to retailers and decorators in his Dallas showroom, which has been open since 1975.
