DaySpring Debuts Recordable Storybook

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark.- Technology is now allowing people to read books to their young loved ones from anywhere in the world – by recording their voices on each page. A special collection of these Recordable Storybooks is being released by DaySpring exclusively to Christian retailers.

Hallmark, DaySpring’s parent company, is currently promoting its entire line of Recordable Storybooks through extensive print and television advertising. The first title in DaySpring’s collection,Bedtime Prayers and Promises, will benefit from that large-scale promotion while bringing unique, inspirational content to the popular new format and targeting a distinct demographic – the faith-based market.

Assisting DaySpring in the promotion is best-selling author Tricia Goyer, the first of many planned product endorsers. As a wife, mother, aunt, author, speaker, family life/teen expert and top “mommy blogger” with more than 44,000 Twitter followers, Goyer believes DaySpring’s Recordable Storybooks meet a unique need.

“The possibilities for DaySpring’s Recordable Storybook Collection are endless,” said Goyer. “I can now read a bedtime story and pray with my nieces and nephews who live hundreds of miles away.”

A mother of four children, including one who is adopted, and an aunt to eighteen other kids, Goyer sees this collection as an opportunity to reach children all over the world.

“My daughter’s biological mother can record her voice into one of these books,” said Goyer. “That means my child will grow up recognizing her biological mother’s voice, and when she’s old enough to understand, imagine how special it will be to know that both of her mothers care about her tremendously.”

The first title in the line, Bedtime Prayers and Promises, is now available in Christian retail stores. It features voice-save technology, enabling the reader’s voice to be recorded into the book. As the young reader or pre-reader turns each page, the recorded voice “reads” the text of the story. The recorded story can be preserved and enjoyed for generations to come through the use of replaceable batteries.

DaySpring plans to release three more titles exclusively to Christian retailers in Fall 2011.

“DaySpring’s Recordable Storybook Collection will give Christian retailers a new way to help parents and grandparents encourage children in their faith,” said DaySpring’s Director of Marketing Communications Brenda Turner. “We are looking forward to being an integral part of sharing the love of reading – and the love of God – through these new storybooks.”

Written by Bonnie Rickner Jensen and accompanied by illustrations from Julie Sawyer Phillips, Bedtime Prayers and Promises offers Scripture verses, prayer starters and rhymes that teach children about God’s love for them. Through voice-save technology, the familiar sound of a loved one helps biblical truths come alive in a reassuring way for children.

“DaySpring’s Recordable Storybooks are ideal for military parents stationed overseas or for family members living in another state who long to be involved in the day-to-day life of a child,” said Goyer. “This collection will allow them to send their love through sweet, bedtime prayers.”

Bedtime Prayers and Promises is now available at Christian retail stores for $29.95.
