Desdemona’s Makes a Splash in Marblehead
Marblehead, OH – A local gallery has made a big move in the last few months and has finally settled into a new location in downtown Marblehead, a short drive from the shores and views that inspire many of its 30 local artists.
Desdemona’s Art Gallery moved from its retail spot in a plaza on Ohio 163 near Ferguson’s Gallery, to 806 W. Main Street in Marblehead in June and has become a staple within the quiet, artistic community.
This is the third location for Desdemona’s, originally founded by local artist Laura A. Brown and a friend, when it was more of a general gift shop. Brown’s daughter, Bailey VanKirk, attended Danbury schools and graduated with a bachelor of fine arts from Kent State University in 2008. After graduation, VanKirk wanted to move back to the area and sell her own art, along with her mother’s and other local artists’ under the Desdemona name.
