Dogeared Launches New Collections at Winter Trade Shows

Los Angeles, CA – Dogeared, a trendsetting brand that creates handcrafted jewels and gifts in Los Angeles, will preview their latest line at the NY ENK Accessorie Circuit & Intermezzo Show, Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, LA Market, NY International Gift Show, and Project Las Vegas. The line includes new styles, collections and extensions, all featured in the vibrant new wholesale catalog.

Dogeared was founded by designer Marcia Maizel-Clarke 16 years ago. She was inspired by the California lifestyle, her love of beautiful design and craftsmanship, and her desire to put good energy into the world. The brand’s latest line highlights both the original vision and its evolution as it continues to establish and reinterpret new trends.

“I believe in the power of words, wishes, symbols and dreams, and this year my passion is for peace, so I have created an entire new Peace Collection. Live in peace, wish for peace, wear peace…it puts good energy out where it’s needed.” explains Maizel-Clarke. “At the same time, some of my recent collections have been about seeing how tiny I can go, how small I can make things. But the New Year has given me a new vision – and it is all about big! Big attitude, big jewels, big statements! It has all come together with new categories and collections, which includes rings (a Dogeared first), necklaces, bracelets, bangles, and earrings in a variety of sizes and materials.”

Dogeared has recreated the classic hoop earring in an expansion of last season’s sell-out Shine Collection. The new Shine earrings combine large gold-dipped hoops with hanging teardrops and gem clusters with gold-dipped hand-cast charms. Orange calcite, pink aventurine, olive jade and carnelian are some of the gems. Angel wings, peace symbols, fleur di lis, hearts and other charms provide the shine that is a lot gorgeous and a little bit rock and roll. Wear them only when being a wallflower is not an option.

Dogeared has updated their collection with a series of new pieces that are as unique as the wearer. Brilliance, Abundance, Commitment and Peaceful Love are a few of the new concepts that are explored through these designs. Dogeared’s Make a Wish collection is the company’s heart and soul, although this year came the realization that one wish was not nearly enough. In fact, the one wish was for more wishes…so the 100 Wishes concept was created in two distinct versions.

Not just the jewels are new for 2008. The catalog has a new layout and design, with gorgeous lifestyle photography and a wholesaler-friendly format. Of course, good Karma starts at home, and Dogeared is proud that this catalog is printed on recycled paper. That, along with using more recycled metals and materials, and making the workplace as energy efficient as possible, is an important part of the company’s vision.
