Love of sewing and sales results in Emmitsburg gift shopBy Jon StewartFrederickNewsPost.com

Emmitsburg — Karen Mozingo has combined her love of selling and sewing to open a gift shop that features products from local artisans.

Klassey Kreations fills the space at 24 W. Main St. previously occupied by Callie’s Collectables.

“I do a few craft shows a year, and I love to sell,” Mozingo said. “The business is an outlet; it’s more pleasure than work. It’s what I prefer to do.”

Mozingo doesn’t know why she chose the name, but her family history helped make her decision to start the business.

“My mom, Olive Duble, and aunt, Pauline Duble, owned All-One-Kin Quilting and Craft Shoppe, across the street from The Cozy, for 15 years, and I joined them at a later time,” Mozingo said.

Mozingo sells clothes and gifts she designs without using patterns.

Her creations include baby nursery products, flowergirl dresses, baby blankets, wall hangings, table runners, tree skirts, pillows, and baby and wedding albums.
