EX•TRACTS Expands in Key Product Categories

Of the multiple personal care categories to be presented at the sold-out winter edition of EX•TRACTS®, three are showing notable growth: natural/organic, perfume/fragrance and men’s lines. EX•TRACTS runs at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), Sunday, January 26, through Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Approximately 50% of EX•TRACTS’ 100 exhibitors carry natural and organic lines, and approximately 25% feature fragrances and men’s lines as well. According to EX•TRACTS sales manager Melissa Engongoro, “While the demand for natural and organic products continues to be strong, there is increasing demand for luxury body care. EX•TRACTS exhibitors are responding to this growing consumer trend by expanding these product offerings.”

The winter 2013 edition of EX•TRACTS also welcomes back Lubin (perfume) and Niche Marketing (representing fragrance and perfume lines) after an absence from the show; and BELLE FLEUR New York (candles, room sprays, bath & body); Esteban PARIS (candles, home and personal fragrance); Feeling Smitten (bath and body products handmade in the USA); and Mosaiq, LLC (candles, home fragrance), all relocating into EX•TRACTS from other NYIGF divisions.

EX•TRACTS and the Day Spa Association will continue their partnership by presenting a special seminar during NYIGF. “Visual Merchandising – In-Store and Online,” will be offered at the Javits Center on Sunday, January 27, from 12:00 Noon to 1:00PM. Allan Share of the Day Spa Association and Patti Biro of Patti Biro and Associates will offer a 360 degree strategy for visual merchandising in spa, salon and specialty stores, utilizing a multi-channel, sensory approach. The EX•TRACTS Best New Products Awards will recognize excellence in five categories – Bath & Body, Beauty Accessory, Cosmetic & Fragrance, Natural/Organic and Packaging – along with one overall “Best of Show” distinction. Winners, which are selected by a panel of editors based on innovative product concept, industry need, aesthetic appeal, creative use of materials/technology and creative packaging, will be announced on Tuesday, January 29.
