Linda Taylor store caters to all tastesBy Diana PaquetSeaCoastOnline.com

Portsmouth — If you like fine clothing and jewelry, personal shopper assistance, parties and patronizing a business that gives back to the community, then check out Linda Taylor on Deer Street, owned and operated by Linda Schuler.

Linda Taylor carries the same designers that Bergdorf’s, Neiman Marcus and Sax Fifth Avenue have, but Schuler says her prices are probably less expensive — and there’s no sales tax.

Schuler also carries lines from European collections that only sell to high-end, specialty stores across the country.

This is not a store for one fashion type, however. Schuler is a personal shopper and will find an outfit for any fashion need.

“Based on the people that shop here, I have everything — I have funky, I have sexy, I have conservative, I have classic,” she said. “It’s never boring.”

Schuler said this is a store where the mother and daughter can shop together because there is every style. She also carries many sizes, from zero to 16.

Being a personal shopper, Schuler keeps track of all her customers in her computer. She records the sizes and colors of every outfit that they have purchased in the store.

Schuler said that what she is trying to do with her customers is wardrobe building, and she uses this information as reference. When she travels to the New York showrooms for Linda Taylor, she has her customers in mind and is shopping for them.

Along with personal services there are parties.

“Life is short. You have to have a party,” said Schuler.
