Greeting Card Association Debuts New Logo

The Greeting Card Association (GCA) has introduced a new logo featuring updated graphics and fashion-forward colors. The redesigned logo incorporates a bright-green envelope from which a rich-purple card and stars rise out. Beneath the envelope, the words Greeting Card Association are rendered in a modern, sans-serif font.

The new logo is representative of the many positive changes occurring in the GCA and is intended to help provide a new brand identity that more accurately reflects the industry as a whole. States GCA V.P. Susan January, vice president of Leanin’ Tree, who helped oversee the logo-redesign project: “After extensive review and feedback from the GCA membership, it was determined that the previous GCA logo no longer represented the vibrancy and relevance of our association and that it was in need of a fresh design approach. Based on a member survey, we learned that members found it most important that the brand identity for the GCA demonstrate that as an association we are relevant, modern, vibrant, active, innovative, dynamic, diverse, creative and forward thinking. The new logo features a graphic logo design that incorporates a contemporary color palette and font choice, and it vividly speaks to the elements of surprise, delight, comfort, and magic that are delivered inside ev ery greeting card envelope.”

The new GCA logo was selected from about 100 designs created by the design studios at Hallmark Cards, Leanin’ Tree and Great Arrow Graphics. After narrowing the designs down, two logos were voted on by the GCA membership. The winning design came from Leanin’ Tree’s design studio and its designer, Shannon Massarotti. The redesigned logo will be used on all Association publications, promotional pieces, LOUIE materials, the website, social media and other GCA communication tools.
