Greeting Card Company Creates Platform for Political Action in the Gulf

Indianapolis, IN – In response to the continued disaster gripping the gulf region, enGreet.com, a greeting card company that allows consumers to mail personalized cards directly from the web, has teamed up with well known cartoonists to launch a special service aimed at giving people a simple, yet colorful means for urging legislative action while raising money for eco-conscious foundations.

The service, dubbed “Gulf Action”, offers provocative and satirical oil spill-related greeting cards from well known and internationally published political cartoonists, including Paul Fell, Steve Greenberg, Yonatan Frimer, and Joe Mohr. Users are encouraged to send personalized cards to representatives in Washington or the halls of BP and are given mailing addresses paired with the ability to have the cards mailed directly from the enGreet platform.

enGreet and its partner artists will donate 20% from the sale of each card to a charity focused on the cleanup or economic restoration of the region. The platform is also used to drive petition signatures for Oceana, the world’s largest organization focused solely on ocean conservation, which is dedicated to ensuring an accident like this never happens again.

“Clearly there is a growing urgency and frustration surrounding this disaster. We developed this as a way to channel those feelings into productive actions that only take a few minutes and cost less than a latte” said enGreet CEO, Adam Weinstein. “The goal here is two-fold: use our platform as a vehicle for people to send cards that stick in the minds of legislators and help generate revenues for organizations taking matters into their own hands”.
