Home Textiles Market Week Welcomes New Companies to New York’s Winter 2014 Market

Home Textiles Market Week® in New York will welcome a wide range of fresh and innovative bed, bath and linen vendors to the winter 2014 market, February 1-6, 2014, at NY NOW™, the Market for Home + Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF®) and 230 Fifth Avenue. Beyond product resources, Market Week also includes a series of buyer-directed educational seminars, special events and product design awards.

“We’re happy to see emerging brands like Anne Lewis and Haptic Labs join the market’s established brands, such as Chilewich, Kim Seybert, Matouk, Sefte and many others, this winter” said Christian Falkenberg, NY NOW director and GLM senior vice president. “No other U.S. Market presents such a wide array of mid-to-upper-end home fashions, alongside such a breadth and depth of related home and lifestyle merchandise.”

At NY NOW, the full spectrum of home textile resources is presented within the HOME collection, which is located on Level 3 of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Within the HOME Collection, three sections – Accent on Design®, Home Furnishings + Textiles and Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares, encompass some 200 mid- to high-end home textiles resources including bed and bath fashions, table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics.

Eleven first-time home fashions suppliers will debut within NY NOW’s HOME Collection this winter. Newcomers include: Anne Lewis (pillows); Art Age Pvt. Ltd. These newcomers join a robust tenant roster which includes notable home fashions suppliers such as Designers Guild, EKE USA, Indigo Home, Raymond Waites Bedding, R Squared Sales and Logistics LLC/Zrike Brands, Signoria Di Firenze, Thro by Marlo Lorenz and VTX Fine Bed Linens.

Educational programming offered at NY NOW during Market Week includes a two-session trend and consumer preference forecasting track presented Tom Mirabile, contributing editor for Pantone View and SVP, Global Trend & Design for Lifetime Brands. “Home + Lifestyle Forecast: Styles + Trends for 2014 + Beyond” will be presented on February 2, and “Consumer Preference Forecast: Myths & Realities About Today’s Shoppers” will be presented on February 3. New York’s Chapter of the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) also will host “What Color Is Your Future? Trends in Color & Design,” on February 3. A complete schedule of events, with links to registration, is available at www.nynow.com/programs.

Select NY NOW home textile suppliers will receive “Best New Products” Awards in four categories – Bath, Bed, Dining and Home Accessories – during Market Week. A panel of trade and consumer editors will determine winners in of each of these categories, plus one “Best of Market” distinction in advance of the Market, and these five products will vie for “Best of HOME” honors, based on crowd-sourced voting on www.redclaydesign.com/nynow from February 1-5. One “Best of HOME” winner will be announced on February 6.
