IMC Announces TrendWatch winners for October 2016

International Market Centers (IMC) announced 80 winning products from 53 companies for its popular TrendWatch program at Fall High Point Market, running October 22-26, 2016. TrendWatch is an exclusive program that gives market attendees an inside look at leading trends in the home furnishings industry through an opening day seminar and three on-site trend displays. The on-site TrendWatch displays feature new products from tenants and exhibitors at High Point Market and showcase how these trends influence style and décor for home furnishings – products ranging from furniture to textiles, materials to decorative accessories.  The product displays reflect different themes and change for each event.

Curated by industry insider Julie Smith Vincenti, decades-long editor and editorial director for award-winning business-to-business publications and websites, and founder of Nine Muses Media, the product displays reflect different themes and change each market. For October, the themes are Fragmentation, Well Suited and Punchy Pastels.

Each display is unique, so be sure to see all three: in the Suites at Market Square Lobby, IHFC Green Lobby and the walkway between IHFC and Showplace near the Transportation Terminal. These trends will be echoed throughout showrooms all over High Point Market – visit Pinterest to see all the submissions; each TrendWatch theme has a dedicated board. More information on the program is available here.

Fall 2016 Trends
Fragmentation
Geometric patterns are loosening up in a move that both rewards and challenges the eye. Pop Art and Op Art influences are evident, as is a kinetic, perhaps frenetic vibe that seems to underscore the pace of everyday life.

Well Suited
A salute to 70s-era glamour – in a palette that’s all about today – texture and color are at the fore. The focus is on sumptuous hues such as camel, cashew and ivory; gold accents; and up-market blues.

Punchy Pastels
Emerging pastels are personable, sophisticated and surprisingly effortless. Muted options mix with brighter hues with gray-cast purples, off-white and creamy beige companion neutrals. Pastels with plenty o’ punch!

Beyond the three different displays – located in the Suites at Market Square Lobby, IHFC Green Lobby and the walkway between IHFC and Showplace near the Transportation Terminal – join Julie as she gives a fresh perspective to these trends LIVE at her keynote seminar – TrendWatch: An Inside Look at the Future of Design on Saturday, October 22, 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Suites at Market Square Seminar Room (SAMS 1-1014).

Fall High Point Market runs from Saturday, October 22 – Wednesday, October 26.
