Kikkerland founder honored with Gift for Life Achievement Award

After 25 years of business and community outreach Kikkerland’s CEO Jan van der Lande will receive the 2016 Gift for Life Chuck Yancy Lifetime Achievement Award at the 25th annual Party for Life fundraiser on February 6, 2017. In addition to accepting the award, it is Kikkerland’s turn to help raise $60,000 by February 2017 in support of the Gift for Life, a charitable organization founded by gift and home industry professionals which supports DIFFA, the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS. DIFFA raises funds for HIV/AIDS service and education programs in an attempt to eradicate AIDS in the U.S.

In a timely coincidence, Kikkerland will also be celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2017. “I am ever so grateful for the Gift for Life Award. It is nice to receive recognition of 25 years of trial and error and making every possible mistake. This would have not been worthwhile if it was just for myself. I’m very happy to help those in need with something that was given to me as well” said van der Lande.

Each year Gift for Life recognizes those in the gift industry who have a history of generosity and charity. Raising money for Gift For Life continues Kikkerland’s tradition of giving back to the community through their products. Sales of their popular Zecar Critter translate into funds for a reforestation project, Mil Folhas, lead by the critters’ designer Chico Bicalho, in Brazil. Their Writersblok notebook collection supports the 826 NYC afterschool literacy program in the US. Their Lucky Beggar Wallet designed by George Skelcher donates to HELP USA, an organization helping homeless since 1986.

Their Endangered Animal Erasers give back to the Center for Biological Diversity, and finally, the Solar Pope benefits UNICEF.

Kikkerland looks forward to see the results of their fundraiser, and encourages everyone to take part in an important cause. Support Kikkerland’s fundraising goal here.
