Kippley finds a niche by selling unique accessories
Prairie du Sac, WI — Linda Kippley opened The Window Sill Gifts shop in downtown Prairie du Sac in 2002. The space at 525 Water St. where the store is located used to be attached to her husband’s business, Locktight Security and Satellite.
Kippley said she and her family lived in the space as an apartment.
“We quickly grew out of that with two boys and a dog,” Kippley said.
Once the Kippley family moved out, she said she decided to use her marketing and fashion merchandising degree to open a gift shop.
Since The Window Sill opened, Kippley said she’s expanded her inventory to include jewelry designed by local artists, wildlife prints from Madison-based artist Matt Erlandson and specialty teas. Kippley answered some questions about what it’s like to own one of the few retail stores in downtown Sauk Prairie.
