Las Vegas Market brings record resources to summer market

Las Vegas Market announced today that a record 4000+ resources are showing at the Summer 2017 Las Vegas Market, which opens here on Sunday, July 31 and runs through Thursday, August 3, making the event the most comprehensive in the Market’s 12-year-history. Record-breaking numbers of both permanent showrooms and temporary exhibitors are expected to draw buyers, designers and retailers from across the United States and from around the world, looking for new and innovative gift, home décor and furniture resources, along with thought-leading education and top-level industry networking in an unparalleled market destination.

Continuing the Market’s recent growth trajectory, the Summer Market will feature a significant number of new and first-time resources for buyers.  Buildings A, B and C will showcase some 72 new and expanded showrooms; and the Pavilions at Las Vegas Market will welcome more than 150 first-time temporary exhibitors.  (NOTE:  A complete schedule of showroom ribbon-cuttings is available online at http://lvmkt.com/S17RibbonCuttings.) The Las Vegas Market also welcomes a record of nearly 40 key associations, buying and industry groups to the Summer Market.

“Consumer confidence and consumer spending for furniture, home décor and gifts are on the rise, which always positively impacts our industry and makes markets more productive and profitable for buyers and sellers alike,” said Robert Maricich, chief executive officer of International Market Centers. “As retailers look to replenish their stores to meet consumer demand and designers search for those unique resources to excite their clients, Las Vegas Market provides a truly comprehensive, effective, and efficient market destination to fulfill all of their needs.”

The well-established furniture category continues to develop, with more than 350,000 square feet of furniture additions, expansions and renewals for the Summer Market. Temporary home furnishings exhibition space on B2 once again is sold-out, with a record 100+ companies exhibiting. Casual and outdoor furnishings also are a rapidly-expanding category at Las Vegas Market, with over 180 resources across campus including two floors—C12 and C13—dedicated entirely to the outdoor furnishings category. To celebrate this category, there will be a Casual/Outdoor Industry Mixer, Sunday July 30, 5pm-7pm, on C12 and 13 and in the new Club Casual Lounge on C13.

The home décor category is always an exciting focus of market as this is often where emerging trends are seen first. This Summer Market, buyers relish in 200,000 square feet of new, expanded and renewing showrooms among the Market’s more than 1.1 million square feet of home décor resources presented on 13 floors in Buildings A, B and C, along with temporary exhibitors in The Pavilions. Cohesive concentrations of design-driven resources and newly-created destinations – such as the expanded Salon West, which makes its summer market debut on C5 – will make shopping more convenient, easier and more efficient.

Explosive increases continue in the housewares, tabletop and specialty food segments, with gourmet resources exceeding 500 brands for the first time ever at Las Vegas Market. Some 200+ gift-oriented gourmet lines are concentrated in showrooms on C1 and C11, and another 300+ brands are featured in showrooms across the Las Vegas Market campus and in temporary exhibits in The Pavilions.

Leasing activity also continues to soar among suppliers of lifestyle merchandise, gifts and seasonal goods, with more than 31,000-square-feet of new and expanded showrooms, with particularly robust growth in the focused Lifestyle Collection on C10; additionally, some 50-plus lifestyle resources will be featured in temporary presentations in the Pavilions. Toys and children’s products are another intensive growth area, with a record 220+ leading juvenile resources showing on C8 and C10 and in temporary exhibition space in The Pavilions.

Las Vegas Market is seeing unequaled demand for temporary exhibition space, with temporary gift and home décor exhibits surpassing 500+ for the first time this summer, including some 150+ new, returning and renewing companies presented in five unique categories:  GIFT, HOME/B HOME, HANDMADE and DESIGNin Pavilion 1 and DISCOVERIES:  The Antique Vintage Marketplace in Pavilion 2.

Summer Market is expected to be a strong market drawing buyers from all 50 states and abroad. Las Vegas Market has formed partnerships with a record of nearly 40 leading industry associations and retail buying groups to offer special programming, tours, educational opportunities, networking events and other membership activities.
