Las Vegas Market transforms Building B lobby with two new showrooms for winter market

Las Vegas Market announced today that it is creating two dynamic, custom-built showroom spaces on the first floor of Building B to facilitate expansion by leading furniture suppliers, Abbyson Living and CDI Furniture, respectively, a move which will fundamentally transform the lobby area and put exciting merchandise in the forefront of the atrium in time for the forthcoming Las Vegas Market, Jan. 22-26, 2017.

“Las Vegas Market is energized about these new furniture showroom build-outs, creating an exciting environment that will completely change the complexion of the Building B atrium,” said Bob Maricich, CEO for IMC. “As the leading furniture, home décor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market is continually seeking new and creative ways to maximize the product presentation and heighten the excitement level in all of our showroom spaces and temporary venues. The expanded and relocated displays by Abbyson Living and CDI Furniture, respectively, will create a lively and vibrant showroom setting ‘front and center’ in Building B.”

Abbyson Living, a leading Los Angeles-based furniture manufacturer, is nearly doubling its space, moving to an 11,204-square-foot showroom in a prime location on B1.  The larger space will accommodate a greater presentation of Abbyson’s growing product line and feature a designer’s lounge, hospitality and espresso bars, and several private conference spaces. “Abbyson Living has been steadily broadening its horizons with a number of strategic moves that have taken the business to the next level, adding new, fresh styles and categories to an already-successful brand,” stated Yavar Rafieha, president. “Las Vegas Market gives us unparalleled exposure to the western buyer base that has been crucial to Abbyson’s growth and expansion with top retailers and more recently interior designers. Las Vegas Market is the only major home furnishings market in the western U.S. offering a true cross-section of suppliers and buyers spanning the home furnishings, décor and gift industries, and we therefore anticipate our high-profile presence at the gateway of Building B will be extremely valuable to our growth goals.”

Montreal-based furniture, lighting and accessories manufacturer CDI Furniture is relocating to a 3,850-square-foot showroom on B1. “The CDI Furniture customer ranges from small individual retailers to large multi-store chains and hotels seeking cutting edge designs and high-quality products at equitable prices—exactly the diverse customer base that is attracted to Las Vegas Market,” explained David Ouaknine, chief executive. “We are therefore extremely excited about the increased exposure that this new high-profile location at Las Vegas Market affords our company. CDI’s innovative, inspiring designs are what set us apart from the competition and have become the very foundation for our consistent success in the industry, and this new, custom-built Las Vegas showroom will be a perfect opportunity to express our unique design aesthetic.”

The two new showroom spaces will be located in an area that was previously part of the Building B lobby.  In connection with this change, Las Vegas Market’s signature FIRST LOOK trend presentation and product display will relocate to a more central and visible location in the Grand Plaza.

The Building B expansions are emblematic of an overall surge in furniture leasing activity at Las Vegas Market, with more than 165,000 square feet of new showrooms, expansions and renewals signed since the Summer 2016 Market. Furniture expansion also is continuing in Building C, with floors 12 and 13 dedicated entirely to the casual and outdoor furnishings category, encompassing 250,000 square feet of permanent and temporary exhibit.  Additionally, the home furnishings temporary presentation on B2 already is sold out, with more than 85 exhibitors confirmed for the Winter Market. Other highlights of Winter Market include major launches from the nation’s top 15 bedding manufacturers as well as expansion in the depth and breadth of offerings from case goods, furnishings and accessories suppliers.
