Las Vegas Souvenir & Resort Gift Show attendance spikes 13 percent

The Las Vegas Souvenir & Resort Gift Show, held Sept. 16-19, 2015, recorded a 13-percent increase in attendance over the 2014 edition. Together with a variety of new programs, promotions and a significantly expanded exhibitor roster — including more than 175 first-time exhibiting companies, a new Hawaii Pavilion and Made In America section — the nation’s largest souvenir and resort gift show gave retailers and vendors much to celebrate during its 10th anniversary edition.

The 2015 edition brought together thousands of best-selling lines and new designs of souvenir and resort product in a wide range of categories, including destination, resort and tourist merchandise, souvenirs, green products, T-shirts, beach items, Made in America, coastal and nautical, lake, mountain and lodge, ski-themed products, logo products, shell items, giftware, jewelry/fashion accessories, toys/games and more. A new Hawaii Pavilion provided a versatile range of gift and resort designs in a host of categories from 19-plus leading Hawaiian manufacturers and artisans, offering retailers a fresh new one-stop resource to discover the best the islands have to offer.

“The Las Vegas Souvenir and Resort show is a great start to the buying season to see new products,” said Brent Walter of Henry Villas Zoo in Madison, Wisconsin. “This show is not to be missed and I would highly recommend this show to any buyer who has not attended.”

The Las Vegas Souvenir & Resort Gift Show highlighted the growing roster of first-time exhibitors with a number of special marketing programs and on-site promotions. Buyers were invited to vote on the show’s Best New Product from the selection of new resources and the winning exhibitor was Kitchen Happy Wine O!.

In addition to exploring the expanded selection, retailers were also given the opportunity to vote for the Best Overall Product, with Ice Prints winning that category. A panel of judges also awarded the Best Booths display prizes to Mason Jar Label Clothing, in the overall category and G. Debrekht Art Studio for the Made in America sector.

The expansive selection was complemented by an array of educational, networking and promotional events. An expanded educational lineup featured programs from the National Association of Retail Buyers (NARB) and the Day Spa Association. The Living Legends Association hosted a reception on Sept. 16 to present its Golden Lily Award to Bob von Normann, Impact Colorado, and the Zoo & Aquarium Buyers Group (ZAG) held a member reception on Sept. 17. In addition, the show’s $50 Giveaway program invited buyers to present show orders for chances to win daily drawings for cash. Grand-prize winner Katie Stephenson of the Kentucky Derby Museum received a complimentary two-night hotel stay for the 2016 edition.
