LVM Seminars to Highlight Color, Lighting & Trends

LAS VEGAS – – Seminars on the season’s hottest colors, home furnishing and design trends plus home lighting looks will educate and enlighten attendees at the Summer 2008 Las Vegas Market July 28 through August 1.

World Market Center Las Vegas is sponsoring seminars focusing on the most current home furnishings trends; color as an influencer for product purchases and the many uses of home lighting. All seminars are free to Las Vegas Market attendees and will take place July 28, July 29 and July 30 on the 16th floor of World Market Center’s Building B.

Sensational Color
Kate Smith, founder of Sensational Color and 2008 Color Marketing Group event chairperson, will present on current color trends influencing the home sector. She will reveal a host of external factors influencing a rise in popularity of a certain color and cover which hues make the greatest impact on upcoming product palettes. Smith will draw on her own experience in the industry to discuss color as the “silent salesperson” and how it communicates a message about a brand or product. Her presentation also will include a color forecast and will highlight the psychological and emotional aspects of color.

Trendwatch Live!
Internationally recognized home furnishings trend expert Michelle Lamb will take the Las Vegas Market stage for her latest installment of TrendWatch Live! in which she will share her top color and design trends for home decor before holding a question and answer session. She will also discuss emerging styles with images from the most recent trade events, including looks fresh from the show floor in Las Vegas.
Lamb is the founder and chairman of Marketing Directions Inc., which produces a full line of home furnishings trend and color forecasts, as well as “The Trend Curve,” a bi-monthly newsletter.

The Art of Lighting for Homes
In a dynamic and informative presentation, award-winning lighting expert and author Randall Whitehead will discuss how lighting can significantly impact the look and feel of a home. He will reveal how lighting can influence a space and will discuss how lighting can enhance color and texture, emphasize depth and dimension and combine comfort with drama. Whitehead will also share best practices for creating energy-efficient lighting solutions for indoor and outdoor living spaces.
Known as an innovator and leading expert in the field of residential lighting, Whitehead draws on his more than a quarter-century of consulting to develop a rare and comprehensive body of knowledge about lighting and how it impacts virtually every surrounding. He has appeared as a guest expert on The Discovery Channel, HGTV and CNNfn. He also is the author of seven highly acclaimed books on lighting design, the most recent being Residential Lighting, a Practical Guide.
