Little girls’ dreams take wing
Wearing wings and party dresses, a dozen little girls sat down to a “Fairy Tea” Wednesday afternoon.
“I’ve been dreaming I’m a fairy,” said Makayla Belgarde, 6, whose role model is Tinkerbell.
This was the second time Makayla has attended one of the fairy events hosted by Incahoots, a gift and plant shop in McMinnville. “She’s been talking about it ever since last summer,” her mother said.
Store representatives said the children’s fairy teas and other fairy activities are always popular.
“Kids like fairies. Adults, too,” said Alena Wirfs, who helped host the tea.
Wirfs, who also wore wings, said she enjoys the fairy events too. “It’s a time to make believe,” she said.
As mothers delivered young fairies to the party, Miranda Bailey set up her face-painting table. The 10-year-old artist laid out numerous pots of bright, water-based colors.
