Little Town, Big City StyleBy Lara K. RichardsTimesRecordNews.com

JACKSBORO — Anna Kate Pankey has brought big-city style to Jacksboro.

In fall 2010, she opened The Lady Bandit, a gift shop offering a wide range of items.

Pankey said she was motivated to open the store after her mother-in-law purchased a building on the downtown square.

“There’s the drugstore next door and the art gallery, and I just thought that this was a great location for a gift shop,” she said. “We didn’t have anything like this in Jacksboro.”

The shop offers a variety of baby clothes and gifts, women’s clothing, home furnishings and gourmet food items.

“We do tons of baby registries and wedding registries,” Pankey said. “I try to sell stuff here that other businesses in town don’t have. Mainly, I opened this store because I wanted Jacksboro to have a store like this.”
