Mason County Says to ‘Shop Local’
Charleston, WV – The benefits of campaigns to encourage local shopping in smaller communities extend beyond merchant cash registers, says the president of the Mason County Chamber of Commerce.
Successful businesses support community schools, sports, youth activities and volunteer organizations, said Richard Walker, a 20-year resident of the county.
“When you spend money down the road or at Amazon, it’s not going to end up helping your kids in Little League, soccer or the band,” Walker said.
