New Discovery Zone, growing number of new exhibitors headline July 2017 Philadelphia Gift Show

To enhance the show floor experience and increase the educational offerings for its buyer base, the Philadelphia Gift Show will launch a new “Discovery Zone’ on he show floor for the July 23-26, 2017, edition at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, Oaks, PA . Featuring pop-up education sessions, demonstrations, giveaways and more, the innovative floor feature joins a growing number of first-time exhibitors, special spotlights on new introductions and the show’s unrivaled business travel savings to give the region’s retailers even more of what they’re looking for — so close to home.

“The Philadelphia Gift Show continues to be a cost-effective and convenient choice for the region’s retailers to shop an all-category show, discover the newest designs and resources, improve their productivity and prepare for the upcoming fourth quarter,” says Brett Smith, show director, Philadelphia Gift Show. “For July, we’re introducing a new interactive and education resource area on the show floor called the Discovery Zone, which is designed to help support local merchants in reaching their store goals.”

Show highlights

Philadelphia Gift Show launches the Discovery Zone
Designed to help retailers boost their productivity and sales, the Discovery Zone is a lively and engaging area on the Philadelphia Gift Show floor that will feature quick learning sessions touching on a variety of topics and trends, including merchandising and display ideas, retail best practices, marketing, panel discussions and hands on demonstrations. Complimentary programs and demonstrations will take place each afternoon from 1-4:30 p.m. See the complete schedule here. While visiting the Discovery Zone, retailers can also pick up an entry form for a chance to enter a drawing to win products and other prizes from participating exhibitors. Drawings will take place each day throughout the show.

Made in America curated buying tour

Join Julie Steiner, director of retail operations, The Barnes Foundation and first vice president of the Museum Store Association (MSA) on the show floor for a curated shopping experience to demonstrate how to choose the perfect American-made products for your store.

Refreshing new finds, first time exhibitors sign on for the summer show
The Philadelphia Gift Show is attracting new, first time exhibitors to the show, including Al Hattendorf Associates, Brainchild Studio, Cheesecloth & Buttermilk, Fashion Touch, Florian Jewelry, Peruvian Trading Co., Polar Mitts, Sosie Designs Jewelry, Talla Imports, Thelma L. Hamilton Designs, and Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confection. This is an early sampling of exhibitors and attendees are encouraged to check the website for an updated listing.

Spotlight on new intros, new resources
Buyers come to market to see what’s new and the Philadelphia Gift Show delivers. Less expensive than New York and easier to work than Atlanta, the July show offers Mid-Atlantic & Tri-State retailers an unrivaled selection under one roof featuring everything from giftware, decorative accessories, tabletop and fashion accessories, to toys and games, designer/artisan items and more. For July, buyers can look for “NEW!” signs in exhibitor booths and product display areas calling out the newest artisan designs, top brand and unique regional specialties that promise to set their stores apart.

Free parking, low hotel rates
Retailers can take advantage of tremendous travel savings at the Philadelphia Gift Show including free parking at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and room rates as low as $79. What’s more, the show’s location in Oaks, PA makes it an easy fly or drive-in location and is situated just a few miles from King of Prussia area, putting show attendees and exhibitors in close proximity to a wide range of entertainment, shopping, recreation and tourism resources during the show.

Special spotlights
The summer show will feature a full range of resources in virtually every category, with a special product spotlight on key growth areas, including: Makers’ Market, Home Accents, Made in America, Child’s Play, Gourmet, Candy & Confections.

Stay for the last day
For additional savings, retailers should shop on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 to enjoy discounts only offered the last day of the show, which include a complimentary buffet lunch, a $20 hotel rebate and additional savings on select lines and products from participating exhibitors.
