New Licensing Gallery at NYIGF Presents Broad Range of Art for Sale or License at Winter Market

White Plains, NY – The newest work from nearly 100 artists and designers will be available for sale and license at The Licensing Gallery @ NYIGF®, a new business-to-business forum debuting at the winter 2010 edition of the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®).

Some 25 exhibitors, comprised of individual artists, designers, licensing agents, design studios and trend companies, will debut a broad assortment of art and design for license and sale to manufacturers and product developers. With styles ranging from graphic, retro, abstract and architectural, to botanical, painterly and whimsical, the art is ideal for most product categories, including bedding, home furnishings, tabletop, floor coverings, apparel, giftware, stationery and more.

“This is the ideal time and place for NYIGF exhibitors, as well as non-exhibiting manufacturers and other product developers to procure the latest artwork from a select group of talented artists and designers.” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF Director and GLM Senior Vice President. “From the painterly florals of Andrea Brooks Studio to the whimsical juvenile prints from Cinnamon Joe Studio, these designers offer a breadth of art styles with limitless applications for gift, home and lifestyle products.”

The Licensing Gallery @ NYIGF was developed in response to requests from participants in SURTEX® (the GLM-owned tradeshow geared exclusively to the sale and license of art and design, held each spring in New York) for a winter venue where they could reach a broad group of home and gift manufacturers. To date, confirmed participants are: Andrea Brooks Studio, Artists of Kolea Licensing Group, Cinnamon Joe Studio LLC, Creative Connection Inc., Inspire by Design Ltd, Johansen Newman, OPR, Pink Light Design, Studio Voltaire, T. Scot, and Wild Apple Licensing.

Participants in this new business-to-business forum bring unique perspectives derived from their varied professional backgrounds, from fine artists specializing in landscapes, watercolors, and collage, to commercial photography, advertising, and theater production. Common among them is their tremendous creativity and ability to form partnerships with manufacturers to develop top-selling products.

The Licensing Gallery @ NYIGF will run Sunday, January 31, through Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. It will be located on the Level One exhibit floor, adjacent to At Home featuring Home Textiles, EX·TRACTS® and Details®, three divisions featuring products most frequently created using licensed artwork for product application.

NYIGF is the nation’s premier gift, home and lifestyle marketplace, with 2,700 exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware. Some 31,000 attendees from all 50 states and 85 countries are expected. For information and registration, visit www.nyigf.com.
