New shops open show confidence in Llandudno
New shops opening in Llandudno have been welcomed by the community.
Last week two shops opened in the resort and further retailers are preparing to open for business later this week.
Businesswoman Kate Russell picked up the keys for her new shop Petticoat Lane this week. The gift shop at St George’s Place, which opens on Saturday, sells goods including jewellery and children’s gifts.
“For some years I’ve struggled to buy gifts locally,” said Kate.
“I’ve always had quite a passion for beautiful items. I’m bringing something special to the town.
“This whole building has recently been restored by the estate to its original Victorian grandeur and I am so fortunate to have acquired the premises.
“Petticoat Lane will be a decorative living and gift shop stocking decorative items, jewellery, accessories, toiletries, children’s gifts, cards and gift wrap.
“My brothers are both fine furniture designers and are making my shop sign, a plate rack and card display amongst some other smaller items of furniture.
“I am also stocking some of my family’s work.”
Manor Fine Foods opened its doors on Upper Mostyn Street last week. The shop specialises in fine foods and kitchenware.
