NY NOW to spotlight sustainable, new products at summer 2016 market

NY NOWthe Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, is excited to once again feature its popular SustainAbility: design for a better world and destination: new product displays at the summer 2016 market. The SustainAbility display will showcase environmentally-conscious and socially-responsible products and manufacturers from around the world while the destination: new display will highlight exhibitors with new product introductions including launches exclusive to the summer market.

“Each year, we are excited to highlight the industry’s most compelling product introductions and showcase the new and sustainable products that represent a wide range of world resources,” said Randi Mohr, vice president and NY NOW Co-Director. “For buyers and exhibitors alike, the SustainAbility and destination: new displays provide a global stage for the most innovative products that continue to drive the industry forward and make for an incredible NY NOW market experience.”

SustainAbility: design for a better world
Curated by Ilene Shaw of Shaw + Co! Productions and located in the North Concourse of the Jacob K. Javits Center, the SustainAbility display will showcase global gift and home industry suppliers whose products or production processes are eco-friendly or companies whose business practices are socially responsible, philanthropic or fair-trade oriented will also be on display. Submissions are assessed on innovation, sell-ability and sensitive use of materials and all exhibitors that apply for the SustainAbility display will also be featured in NY NOW’s SustainAbility literature for market attendees.

At the summer 2016 market, the SustainAbility display will feature more than 170 products from over 100 exhibitors including:
•       Lafco: Violet & Amber Wood Moisture Rich Soap (Booth #4054)
•       Sobremesa by Greenheart: Short Ola Cake Stand (Booth #3346)
•       JeevanKala: Cloths Bin (Booth #211)
•       Lovewild Design: Blooming Coins (Booth #9153)
•       Industria Vetreria Valdarnese: IVV Vintage Collection (Booth #3618)
•       The Winding Road: Hand Made Felt Kitties (Booth #132)

destination: new
NY NOW exhibitors with new product introductions were invited to participate in destination: new, the new products display at the summer 2016 market. Exhibitors were encouraged to submit product for consideration, which must be new to the marketplace as of March 1, 2016. Products that are being debuted exclusively at NY NOW’s summer 2016 market will be specially highlighted.

More than 275 exhibitors and products have already been accepted for the destination: new display including:
