Emerald Expositions has announced the promotion of Nicole Climent, a nine-year tradeshow veteran, to sales manager for two sections of the HANDMADE collection of NY NOW, The Market for Home + Lifestyle. Climent will report directly to Allison Garafalo, HANDMADE sales director.

In her new role, Climent will oversee sales activities for the HANDMADE Designer Maker and Global Design sections. Climent was hired by GLM in 2006, to assist with EXTRACTS and SURTEX, and shifted onto the New York Market sales team in 2008, working exclusively on its Gift section. Prior to joining the company, Climent earned an Associates Degree in Fashion Marketing and Management from Berkeley College.

For 30-plus years, NY NOW’s HANDMADE collection has highlighted handcrafted items across a range of product categories such as tabletop, ceramics, textiles, home décor, jewelry and apparel. The collection presents two juried sections: Designer Maker, which showcases around 350 limited-production makers across all categories and media, and Global Design, which presents a selection of 150 international craft resources with a focus on strong design blended with traditional techniques and quality workmanship. HANDMADE will run Saturday through Tuesday, Aug. 15-18, 2015, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
NY NOW, the Market for Home + Lifestyle, will run Aug. 15-19, also at the Javits Convention Center. NY NOW’s three comprehensive collections — HOME, LIFESTYLE and HANDMADE, as well as new exhibitors — encompass 100,000 products in 400-plus product categories. Information and registration is available online at www.nynow.com.
