New York Home Textiles Market Week Announces Summer 2009 Best New Product Awards WinnersBy Press Releases

New York, NY — Green Bamboo Outdoor Pillow from V Rugs & Home was awarded “Best of Market” yesterday in the Best New Product Awards competition at Home Textiles Market Week® in New York. Four additional awards were presented in product-specific categories: Bed, Bath, Dining and Home Accessories. New York Home Textiles Market Week runs, through Thursday, August 20, at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), 230 Fifth Avenue and 7 W 34th Street.

Winners and finalists were selected by a panel of trade and consumer editors based on several criteria, including innovation in design; creative use of materials/construction; and new fiber, material or technology.

The summer 2009 winners and finalists, selected from over 115 entries, are:

Finalist: Sin In Linen (Seattle, WA) for its Tattoo Flash Ivory Shower Curtain

DINING CATEGORY:
Winner: Lintex (New York, NY) for its Golden Jubilee tablecloth and napkin
Finalist: Culturally Chic (Miami, FL) for its Bogacs place mat and napkin set
Finalist: Settings by Mona (Las Vegas, NV) for its Square Tablecloth

HOME ACCESSORIES CATEGORY:
Winner: Dash & Albert (Pittsfield, MA) for its Zipper Rug, wool hand woven zipper rug
Finalist: V.P. Designs (New Rochelle, NY) for its Chantilly Tablecloth Gift
Finalist: Scents and Feel (Miami, FL) for its Fouta Collection

The Best New Product Award judges were: Jennifer Marks, Editor-in-Chief, Home Textiles Today; Wanda Jankowski, Editor-in-Chief, LDB; David Gill, Editor-in-Chief, HFN; Jenny Heinzen York, Editor-in-Chief, Home Accents Today; Pamela Graves, Editor-in-Chief, Home Fashion & Furniture Trends; and Katherine Nelson, Senior Market Editor,Metropolitan Home.

New York Home Textiles Market Week offers buyers access to nearly 500 better bed, bath, linen and home products vendors at the New York International Gift Fair (Jacob K. Javits Convention Center & Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94), 230 Fifth Avenue and 7 West 34th Street. Products represented include bed and bath fashions, table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics.
