On The Move: Fort Collins Couple To Launch Furniture, Gift storeBy Pat FerrierColoradoAn.com

A new shop featuring antiques, reproductions, modern and vintage furniture and gifts will open Saturday in Front Range Village.

Nestled between Party City and Dress Barn, the 1,400-square-foot Feather Your Nest, is owned by Barbara and Jonah Lovendahl of Fort Collins.

Barbara Lovendahl was a buyer for CSU’s bookstore for 10 years.

“After I left the store I got bored and decided to start a store,” she said.

Lovendahl, originally from North Carolina, is bringing antiques from throughout the country, including the East Coast and her native North Carolina.

“It’s quite a challenge in this economy to start a store, but I’m going for it,” said Barbara Lovendahl, 44. She has hired a full-time and two part-time employees but the store will be primarily family run, she said.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m., on Sunday.

The grand opening will feature a drawing for a $500 shopping spree.

For more information call Feather Your Nest at (970) 223-2301.
