Paperworld China 2014 Features a Number of Chinese Pavilions and a Larger Range of Office Items

Paperworld China, China’s leading international trade fair for the stationery and office supplies industry will feature several Chinese pavilions and a larger range of office items when it is held from 18 – 20 September 2014 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, China.

As well as a Taiwanese pavilion, the 10th edition of the show has signed local Chinese pavilions with companies from well-known stationery manufacturing bases such as Ningbo, Shandong, Tonglu and Wenzhou. In addition, exhibitors from Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the USA have been confirmed.

Representing the show organiser, Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager for Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd said: “As well as traditional office supplies such as paper and printing products, buyers will be able to source a full range of office products from coffee machines, dehumidifiers, air purifiers, IT accessories to desk decoration items and office plants.”

Creativity and quality are the key elements at the show

The Chinese middle class now has an annual household income of between RMB 106,000 to RMB 229,000 (USD 16,000 to USD 34,000) and by 2022 this demographic group is expected to account for 54 percent of the total urban household population, making it the largest mainstream consumer group. In particular, this consumer group is looking for trendy and quality products that can express their individuality and personal taste. To cater for this, several zones will be set up at Paperworld China 2014.

The Zone of Elite is where buyers will be able to source quality high-end brands from local and international suppliers. Exhibitor Ms Catherine Lu, Chief Executive Officer from Chinese company Ujipin commented: “Paperworld China is the right place for us to share our ideas and to showcase our new products to customers. Office is not necessarily boring. We can enjoy a happy and fun workplace by using trendy and creative office items. This year, we will bring a new series of quality fashionable stationery and office items including an environmentally friendly solar calculator which is made of corn material, a bread-shaped lined notebook, Japan Redhill tree writing paper, a mini office toolbox as well as e+m pens from Germany.”

DIY products continue to grow in popularity in the Chinese consumer market. At the show, the DIY Studio will showcase creative “do-it-yourself” and handicraft items. Visitors will be able to learn new techniques and enjoy a “do-it-yourself” experience at this zone. Exhibiting at the DIY Studio is Taiwanese company Shungei Int’l Co Ltd and they will showcase their latest series of DIY paper toys without the use of glue and tools, which received a number of international awards for its creative and innovation design. Buyers will also be able to view their signature Q-train paper toy.

Last year’s show visitors were enthusiastic about Chinese cultural activities such as paper cutting and calligraphy. As a result, Paperworld China 2014 will feature an Oriental Culture zone where traditional arts, fine crafts, calligraphy and painting will be displayed by Asian exhibitors. In addition, a highly regarded Chinese professor will speak at a seminar on corporate culture and management relating to Asian culture.

Paperworld China is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, the China Chamber of Commerce for I/E of Light Industrial Products & Arts-crafts and Guangzhou Foreign Trade South China Exhibition Corp Ltd. The show is expected to attract 25,000 visitors and 550 manufacturers and suppliers from different countries and regions.

This year’s Paperworld China will be held concurrently with Interior Lifestyle China, the trade fair for lifestyle and household products and accessories. Holding the two shows at the same venue offers buyers a larger range of products to choose from.
