Pitman store is all wrapped up in new business ventureBy Kelly RoncaceNJ.com

Love the holidays but hate wrapping gifts?

A new business has the answer to every non-wrappers’ prayers.

And That’s A Wrap, located at 3 Second Ave. in Pitman, will beautifully wrap any size and shaped package, according to Carol Klein, business partner.

Klein, who is the lead gift wrapper, said the business has only been open since Nov. 14. The whole idea, she said, started when she told her friend and now business partner Ray Picerno that she wanted to look for a part-time job wrapping gifts at a local mall.

The next thing she knew, the two were opening their own gift-wrapping business.

Picerno was running a janitorial business and used the small store on Second Avenue for storage.

“She wanted to wrap gifts and the storefront was just sitting there,” he said.

So, he said he emptied out the space and the two decorated it and turned it into Carol’s dream.

“It’s like a little family business,” she said. “We all have worked really hard.”

Klein works the night shift, while Picerno works the morning shift, and the second generation comes in after school.

“My daughter Emily and his son Randy come in after school to help out,” she said.

Picerno said his son, who has officially been titled an assistant manager along with Emily, loves the responsibility of working in the store.

“He always wants to work the cash register,” he said. “I hope I can keep him enthused.”
