Punch Studio Acquires Lady Jayne, Ltd

Todd Kirshner, CEO of Punch Studio, based in Culver City, CA, announced today the acquisition of certain assets of Lady Jayne, Ltd.

Lady Jayne, formerly based in Cypress, CA, is a key supplier of gift and stationery products with a broad market penetration in specialty gift stores under their Lily McGee brand and in major retail chains which feature their Lady Jayne brand.

Punch Studio, formerly known as Michel & Company, is a premier gift and stationery manufacturer which was founded in 1970 by the artist Michel Bernstein and her partner, Dan Neuhar. Todd Kirshner purchased the stationery division of the company in 2001 and changed the name to Punch Studio. Punch Studio and its partner company, Fringe Studio, are well known for their sophisticated designs and attention to quality. The combined companies have an in-house design team of over 40 creative artists developing products including stationery, decorative storage, bath & body, candles, glass trays and a wide range of related products.

Punch and Fringe products are sold throughout the world under the brands Punch Studio, The Gifted Line, Molly & Rex, Pooch & Sweetheart, Fringe and Miscellany. In addition to having a strong presence in the specialty gift store market, both Punch and Fringe produce many programs for major retailers on an exclusive basis.

Although Punch will be integrating the operations of Lady Jayne into its Culver City facility, the design teams will be separate to insure the integrity of the Lady Jayne look is well maintained. As Mr. Kirshner from Punch commented, “Lady Jayne has a distinctive style and unique product line which has performed very well in the gift market. We don’t want to change their design approach – ‘don’t fix it if it’s not broken.’ Mr. Kirshner added, “We look forward to growing the Lady Jayne brand and expanding the product mix into new categories.”

Lance Mayer from Punch will be heading up the Lady Jayne sales team and any inquiries may be directed to him.
