Yankee Central, in the Broad Street Mall, has been put forward for the ‘Shop I can’t live without’ category by a teacher at a special school.

Sandie Rimmer said staff at the shop deserved praise for their help whenever she visited with her older students.

She said: “The days of excellent customer service are still here with Yankee Central.

“It is a credit to the staff in this store that they treat each student with great dignity and respect.

“It is so helpful for our visually impaired students to be able to identify individual fragrances, and a most enjoyable shopping experience. It also gives me an opportunity to buy from my favourite store.”

Yankee Central is a small independent chain of three shops that stock a wide range of Yankee Candles and accessories.
