Point Pleasant, Nj — My Point Pleasant Beach store — Seedling, A Baby Shop — has only been open for a few months, and I have never been filled with more self-confidence, self-doubt, happiness and stress in my life.

In these first few months of business I have learned that balancing all of the emotions that come with opening your own business is extremely important, and extremely difficult. But overall, this has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

My career began when I went looking for a job when I was 16 to get some spending money, and got a call to come in for a holiday sales associate position at Banana Republic in Sea Girt. I got the job and began to learn the basics of retail and customer service in general. I was fortunate to meet a few very talented individuals at my first job that have shaped my work ethic into what it is today.

Working for a boss that I fully respected and looked up to had a great effect on me. I wanted to learn more, and I wanted to exceed the expectations that were set for me. I loved my job, and I continued to work at Banana Republic throughout my next two years of high school.
