Roman Celebrates 50th Anniversary in 2013

Roman, Inc., a veteran and leader in the Giftware Industry, is celebrating their 50th Anniversary in 2013. In 1963 Ron Jedlinski, with very little capital and virtually no staff, founded Roman, Inc. With unique products, a supportive family and desire to serve the retailer, Roman would soon turn into a great American success story.

Throughout the next several decades, with the help of Diane, extended family and an ever growing work force, Roman became known for its award-winning collections that include the Fontanini® Heirloom Nativity®, Seraphim Classics® and the Joseph’s Studio™ Collection. Explosive growth in the 90’s was fueled by Roman’s introduction into the Christmas business, with various themes, collections, and artificial Christmas trees and lighting. Most recently, the acquisition of Cottage Garden Collections® and Alexa’s Angels® brought further diversity and best-selling product to Roman’s offering.

Today, Jedlinski retains the title of Chairman, while ownership and management of Roman has been passed onto his daughter, Julie and her husband, Dan Loughman, who serve on the Family Board. Julie’s mother, Diane, also serves on the Family Board. “My family has greatly enjoyed the many, personal relationships we have formed over the past 50 years with customers, employees and vendors,” says Dan Loughman, President and CEO of Roman. “On behalf of my family, and the entire Roman family, I want to thank everyone that has played a role in our success!” Today, Roman remains one of the largest, and most respected family owned and operated businesses in the gift industry.
