Roman Commits to Multiple 2013 Donations to Fisher House

Roman continues to enrich the lives of others by making contributions to various organizations nationwide. For 2013, Roman has committed to offering multiple donations to the Fisher House of Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Illinois.

Throughout the year, Roman will donate 50% of the sales from their “Protect our Heroes” pocket tokens to the foundation. Roman offers four different pocket tokens featuring the logo of a different military branch (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines). Each token comes carded with a prayer printed on the back. Roman’s first check was delivered to the Hines Fisher House this week for approximately $4,300. Donations will continue periodically throughout 2013.

“We wanted to do something special for our 50th Anniversary, and providing direct assistance to injured military veterans and their families is a great cause,” says Dan Loughman, President/CEO of Roman. “My father and brother both served in the Air Force. Roman’s founder, Ron Jedlinski, served in the Navy, as did I. So supporting the Fisher House Foundation gives my family a close, personal connection to this organization and families they support.”

Since Hines Fisher House opened its doors, it has provided accommodations to over 1,600 military guests. A Fisher House is a “no charge home away from home” for family members, caregivers or loved ones of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers.

About Fisher House
Fisher House Foundation is a network of comfort homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers nationwide and in Europe. Fisher Houses are beautiful homes, donated to the military and Department of Veterans Affairs. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time – during the hospitalization for a combat injury, illness or disease. Located in close proximity to the medical center or hospital it serves, each Fisher House consists of between 8 and 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is no fee to stay in a Fisher House. Since 1990, the foundation has saved military, veterans and their families an estimated $200 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.
