Seminar schedule announced for January 2017 Philadelphia Gift Show

Urban Expositions, producers and managers of the Philadelphia Gift Show, has announced the full educational line-up for the January 6-9, 2017 edition, held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania. Attending retailers will have a chance to enjoy a number of complimentary sessions ranging in topics from creative marketing strategies and merchandising and display ideas and techniques, all to help them connect with and better service their customers.

As an added bonus, the 2017 edition will once again co-locate with the Philadelphia National Candy, Gift & Gourmet Show, increasing cross-over buying and selling opportunities for attendees and vendors alike.

Among the program highlights for the January edition is a Made in America Buying Tour led by Aramark’s Vice President of Retail & Leisure, Eric Flanigan on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. Flanigan will conduct a short presentation for participating retailers on how to select the right Made in America product for their store followed by a buying tour on the show floor visiting exhibitors displaying Made in America products.

Friday, January 6

Capturing the Corporate Market
10:30-11:30 a.m. | Presented by Tammy Shapiro, President, Talk of the Town Gourmet Gifts & More

Gift shops, gourmet shops, wine shops and gift basket companies can learn creative ways to market your business to corporate clients that will help you generate sales beyond fourth quarter. In this session, Tammy will identify the needs of the corporate market and provide tips and strategies on how to meet their expectations, budgets and branding needs. You’ll also leave with some creative ways to package everyday products to reflect a corporate image, allowing you to become an extension of your corporate clients marketing department and keep them coming back time after time.

1:30-2:30 p.m. | Presented by Tammy Shapiro, President, Talk of the Town Gourmet Gifts & More

Customer Service, Cost and Creativity are the three “C’s” that create repeat customers. This session is designed with the consumer in mind and what they are actually looking for, how important shopping with ease is to them, along with convenience. In addition, you’ll also learn creative marketing and merchandising techniques to get the consumer coming back time and time again.

Made In America Seminar & Buying Tour

10-11 a.m. | Presented by Eric Flanigan, Vice President of Retail & Leisure, Aramark

Join Eric Flanigan, Aramark’s Vice President of Retail & Leisure, for a short presentation on how to successfully create Made In America ‘merchandise stories’ within your retail shop to help maximize sales. Following the presentation, retailers will join Eric on the show floor to visit participating vendors with Made in America products.
