Seminars & Special Events Among Highlights of Winter 2013 Artisan Resource

A four-day schedule of educational sessions and social events will supplement the exhibit floor activities during the winter 2013 Artisan Resource™, a one-of-a-kind market offering U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers and wholesalers the opportunity to meet with international artisanal producers. The second semi-annual edition of Artisan Resource runs January 27-29, 2013, at New York City’s Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 92, in connection with the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®).

“Importing, product development and global marketing are among topics that will be addressed in Artisan Resource programming,” said Allison Rober, Artisan Resource sales manager. “Our exhibitor-focused sessions provide valuable information about U.S. market practices and preferences, and attendee-directed sessions offer insights into the basics of volume importing.” (NOTE: A full seminar and event schedule follows and is available online at www.artisanresourceny.com.

The Artisan Resource programming begins pre-show, on Saturday, January 26, with a full-day of exhibitor education on topics ranging from U.S. tradeshow etiquette, as well as sessions on ‘story telling,’ product development and color and design trends. During the Show, attendee-focused sessions will include presentation of a daily “Importing 101” primer. An opening-day welcome reception also is scheduled for Sunday, January 27.

In addition, Artisan Resource participants can also sit in on the extensive seminar series and social events offered at NYIGF, such as the “Night on Broadway” event on Monday, January 28, featuring Disney’s NEWSIES. Information and registration for all seminars and events is available online at www.nyigf.com/programs.

Artisan Resource is a semi-annual tradeshow which runs concurrently with NYIGF, offering a production-sourcing venue for overseas artisan enterprises to showcase their products and production capabilities — at export terms — from their country of origin. Artisan Resource is managed by GLM and organized with the assistance of ByHand Consulting. For exhibitor information, contact Allison Rober, sales manager, at (914) 421-3212, or arober@glmshows.com. Attendee information is available by calling 1-800-272-SHOW (7469), or (212)204-1060. Additional information and registration is available online at www.artisanresourceny.com.

NYIGF is the nation’s premier gift, home and lifestyle marketplace, with 2,800 exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware. The winter market takes place Saturday, January 26, through Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94. Some 35,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 80 countries worldwide are expected. Information and registration is available online at www.nyigf.com.
