It’s not quite yet like a walk through a quaint little town within Doylestown.

One side of the first floor of the old County Linen building, which is being transformed into a small mall of about 10 stores, is a gray wall with sketches of storefronts taped to it. Behind the wall, men work with saws, hammers and drills, filling the whole floor with noise.

The other side of the floor is lined with brightly colored storefronts opening into stores in various stages of completion.

The only thing open already — far in the back of the first floor — is the Pennsylvania Soup and Seafood House.

And customers don’t seem to mind walking through the construction to get the soups and sandwiches made by Keith Blalock and Chad Riedley.

“We’re long-time fans of Keith,” said Adriana Miller, who ate lunch with two friends earlier this week. “We sort of just follow him wherever he goes.”

Miller and her friends have been excited about the Main Street Marketplace, and they’re eagerly waiting to see what stores it will have.
